| dc.description | One of the main phytopathological problems of the oil palm is the black weevil (Rhynchophorus palmarum). The primary method of controlling this pest is through the use of traps with attractants and high-toxicity synthetic insecticides. An alternative approach to control R. palmarum is the use of entomopathogenic fungi. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the entomopathogenic capacity of native strains of Beauveria bassiana on the black weevil of the palm (Rhynchophorus palmarum) in vitro. | |

La principal forma de control de esta plaga es a través del uso de trampas con atrayentes e insecticidas sintéticos de alta toxicidad. Un enfoque alternativo para el control de R. palmarum es el uso de hongos entomopatógenos por ello, el objetivo del presente trabajo fue evaluar la capacidad entomopatógena de cepas nativas de Beauveria bassiana sobre el picudo negro de la palma (Rhynchophorus palmarum) in vitro. | |
