| dc.description | The present study was developed with the objective of investigating biological and metabolic aspects of dica in three sampling sites in the Ventanas, Quevedo and Buena Fe rivers with the help of networks. A factorial design of 3 × 2 (sampling sites × sex) was used completely at random, 60 organisms / site were collected, for a total of 180 fish, from which the sexology, morphometry, biological indices and metabolic parameters were determined. In the canton of Quevedo it was where the greatest presence of females was found and in Ventanas the greatest number of males. According to the morphological parameters, a significant difference was found for sex, the females had a greater weight of 187.67 g and a difference than the males, 159.83 g, likewise the size 23.48 cm, in the thickness of the head the females also predominated 4.39 cm, the thickness from the trunk 5.70 cm, tail 2.52 cm and condition factor 1.44. In the biological indices, females present higher values in the hepatosomatic (0.94%), gonadic (12.99%), viserosomatic (20.19%), males stood out in the theseomatic index (1.17%). In the metabolic parameters there were significant differences in sex, place and place / sex interaction, the lowest amount of glucose was obtained by the females 40.00 mg / dL, in the triglycerides the males had a lower content of 226.33 mg / dL, likewise the Males predominated in proteins 3.97 (g / dL), with respect to cholesterol the lowest increase is applied in females 139.00 mg / dL.The study showed that the dominant sex is females with 83.9 % and there was a significant difference in morphometric, metabolic and biological indices. | dc.description.abstract | El presente estudio se desarrolló con el objetivo de investigar aspectos biológicos y metabólicos de dica en tres sitios de muestreo en los ríos Ventanas, Quevedo y Buena Fe. Se empleó un diseño factorial de 3 × 2 (sitios de muestreo × sexo) completamente al azar, se recolectaron 60 organismos/ sitio, para un total de 180 peces, a los cuales, se le determinó la sexología, morfometría, índices biológicos y parámetros metabólicos. En el cantón de Quevedo fue donde se encontró mayor presencia de hembras y en Ventanas mayor cantidad de machos. De acuerdo a los parámetros morfológicos se encontró diferencia significativa para el sexo, las hembras presentaron mayor peso 187.67 g a diferencia que los machos 159.83 g, así mismo la talla 23.48 cm, en el grosor de la cabeza también predominaron las hembras 4.39 cm, el grosor del tronco 5.70 cm, cola 2.52 cm y factor de condición 1.44. En los índices biológicos, las hembras presentaron mayores valores en el hepatosomático (0.94%), gonádico (12.99%), viscerosomático (20.19%), los machos resaltaron en el índice estosomático (1.17%). En los parámetros metabólicos se presentaron diferencias significativas en el sexo, lugar e interacción lugar/sexo, la menor cantidad de glucosa obtuvieron las hembras 40.00 mg/dL, en los triglicéridos los machos presentaron un menor contenido de 226.33 mg/dL, así mismo los machos predominaron en las proteínas 3.97 (g/dL), respecto al colesterol se observó el menor incremento en las hembras 139.00 mg/dL. El estudio demostró que el sexo dominante es las hembras con el 83.9 % y existió diferencia significativa en los parámetros morfométricos, metabólicos e índices biológicos.
