| dc.description | The research was carried out at the University Campus "La María" belonging to the State Technical University of Quevedo, located at Km 7 of the Quevedo - El Empalme road, canton Mocache, province of Los Ríos. The objective of the study was to evaluate the effect of potassium fertilization on the concentration of soluble solids (brix degrees) in orange (Citrus sinensis L.). For this purpose, a completely randomized block design with three treatments (T1. Control 0 kg, T2. Application of potassium fertilizer 75 kg and T3. Application of potassium fertilizer 150 kg) and five replicates, each replicate consisting of 10 experimental units (plants). For their evaluation, an analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed and Tukey's test (P≤0.05) was used to compare the averages obtained by each treatment. The variables evaluated were: number of fruits per plant, fruit weight at harvest (g), longitudinal fruit diameter (cm), transverse fruit diameter (cm), length/diameter ratio, brix degrees and economic analysis. The results showed that there were no significant statistical differences in the length/diameter ratio (P>0.05). On the other hand, the opposite occurred in the number of fruits per plant, fruit weight at harvest, longitudinal diameter of the fruit, transverse diameter of the fruit and brix degrees, where T3 stood out. Finally, it was concluded that the use of potassium fertilizer at a dose of 150 kg/ha increases the productive parameters and fruit quality in the orange crop, while the use of a dose of 75 kg/ha demonstrated greater feasibility in the economic analysis. | |
| dc.description.abstract | La investigación se efectuó en el Campus Universitario “La María” perteneciente a la Universidad Técnica Estatal de Quevedo, localizada en el Km 7 de la vía Quevedo – El Empalme, cantón Mocache, provincia de Los Ríos. Y tuvo por objetivo evaluar el efecto de la fertilización potásica sobre la concentración de sólidos solubles (grados brix) en el cultivo de naranja (Citrus sinensis L.). Para ello, se empleó un diseño de bloques completamente al azar con tres tratamientos (T1. Testigo 0 kg, T2. Aplicación del fertilizante potásico 75 kg y T3. Aplicación del fertilizante potásico 150 kg) y cinco repeticiones, cada repetición compuesta de 10 unidades experimentales (plantas). Para su evaluación se realizó un análisis de la varianza (ANOVA) y se empleó la prueba de Tukey (P≤0.05) para comparar los promedios obtenidos por cada tratamiento. Las variables evaluadas fueron: número de frutos por planta, peso del fruto a la cosecha (g), diámetro longitudinal del fruto (cm), diámetro transversal del fruto (cm), relación longitud/diámetro, grados brix y análisis económico. En relación a los resultados se pudo constar que en la variable relación longitud/diámetro no existieron diferencias estadísticas significativas (P>0.05). Mientras que, de forma opuesta ocurrió en el número de frutos por planta, peso del fruto a la cosecha, diámetro longitudinal del fruto, diámetro transversal del fruto y grados brix, donde destacó principalmente T3. Finalmente, se concluyó que el uso del fertilizante potásico en dosis de 150 kg/ha incrementa los parámetros productivos y calidad del fruto en el cultivo de naranja; mientras que, el uso de una dosis de 75 kg/ha demostró una mayor factibilidad en el análisis económico. | |
