| dc.description | This study aims to determine the impact that causes the free use of Cordia alliodora (laurel) and Otoba sp. (doncel) in the composition and structure of secondary forests in the province of Napo, and knowing that the loss of the forest resource at the global level is a serious environmental problem, social and economic problem, which directly got influence in the capacity of recuperation and regeneration of many species and the forest in general. We emphasize in the secondary forests as an alternative of mitigation consideration generated principally by deforestation in many zones of the country, being secondary forests initiatives of mitigation of this effect at least in a partial way, arguing that we consider the secondary forests as groups of ligneous vegetation of successional nature character of importance (Lamprecht, 1990), in rural development, conservation of natural resources, besides, being a producer of goods and services such as: reservoir of organic matter and nutrients; regulation of water flows; maintenance of biodiversity; carbon sinks; source of food, medicinal plants, timber and fuel etc...The Napo province by its immense richness and floristic diversity is threatened by this phenomenon, then it has been identified the central problem which takes advantages in an intensive way of Cordia alliodora and Otoba sp. species with high economic and ecological value. We consider alternative proposals of management and sustainable development of the existing forest resources promoting the conservation of the same one, substantially improving the quality of life in the population and ensuring the resource for future generations. The best manipulation that we can perform to the forests is to control and take advantages of it. The Ministry of the Environment, is the authority National Forest which is responsible of this process through the directions of each province by the Forest Administration System in which we will support in order to do the present investigation where we will evaluate the impact that has caused the use of legal and illegal of Cordia alliodora and Otoba sp. in the composition and structure of secondary forests. | dc.description.abstract | Con el trabajo de investigación se determinará el impacto que ocasiona el aprovechamiento Cordia alliodora (laurel) y Otoba sp. (doncel) en la composición y estructura de los bosques secundarios en la Provincia de Napo, sabiendo que la pérdida del recurso forestal a nivel mundial es un serio problema ambiental, social y económico, incidiendo directamente en la capacidad de recuperación y regeneración del bosque. Se pone énfasis en los bosques secundarios como alternativa de mitigación al efecto de deforestación al menos de forma parcial. Los bosques secundarios como agrupaciones de vegetación leñosa de carácter sucesional son de suma importancia en el desarrollo rural, conservación de los recursos naturales, además de ser productor de bienes y servicios como: reservorio de materia orgánica y nutrientes; regulación de los flujos hídricos; mantenimiento de la biodiversidad; sumideros de carbono; fuente de alimentos, plantas medicinales, madera, combustible y otros. La provincia de Napo por su inmensa riqueza y diversidad florística se ve amenazada ante este fenómeno, se ha identificado el problema central que es el aprovechamiento intensivo de Cordia alliodora y Otoba sp. especies con alto valor económico y ecológico. El Ministerio del Ambiente, es la autoridad Nacional Forestal responsable de este proceso a través de las direcciones de cada provincia, mediante el Sistema de Administración Forestal en el cual se apoyó la presente investigación evaluando el impacto que ha causado el aprovechamiento legal e ilegal de Cordia alliodora y Otoba sp. en la composición y estructura de los bosques secundarios, por ello se plantea la propuestas alternativas de manejo y aprovechamiento sustentable del recurso forestal existente, promoviendo la conservación del mismo, mejorando sustancialmente la calidad de vida de la población y asegurando el recurso para generaciones futuras.
