| dc.description | This study focuses on a relevant problem in the context of the State Technical University of Quevedo: the time it takes for students to graduate. A series of specific research questions are posed, such as the identification of the academic barriers that students face, the influence of socioeconomic factors on the prolongation of their studies, and the relationship between the academic period and the time of graduation. The delimitation of the problem establishes the field of study, the area, the line of research, the place and the period of time in which the research will be carried out. This information is essential to understand the context and limitations of the study. The objectives of the research are both general and specific. The general objective is to develop a predictive model that, through algorithms and prediction techniques, allows us to understand and predict the time to graduation of students. The specific objectives, on the other hand, break down the specific tasks that will be carried out, such as the identification of relevant variables, the exploration of the relationship between the socioeconomic situation and the prolongation of the studies, and the analysis of the factors that affect the students' academic period. In summary, this research seeks to provide a detailed and predictive vision of the factors that affect the completion of the degree time of students at the State Technical University of Quevedo, specifically in the field of Information and Communication Technologies, in a certain period of time. The results of this research could be useful for making decisions that improve academic efficiency and support for students in their degree process. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Este estudio se enfoca en un problema relevante en el contexto de la Universidad Técnica Estatal de Quevedo: el tiempo de titulación de los estudiantes. Se plantea una serie de preguntas de investigación específicas, como la identificación de las barreras académicas que enfrentan los estudiantes, la influencia de factores socioeconómicos en la prolongación de sus estudios, y la relación entre el período académico y el tiempo de titulación. La delimitación del problema establece el campo de estudio, el área, la línea de investigación, el lugar y el período de tiempo en el que se llevará a cabo la investigación. Esta información es fundamental para entender el contexto y las limitaciones del estudio. Los objetivos de la investigación son tanto generales como específicos. El objetivo general es desarrollar un modelo predictivo que, mediante algoritmos y técnicas de predicción, permita entender y predecir el tiempo de titulación de los estudiantes. Los objetivos específicos, por otro lado, desglosan las tareas concretas que se llevarán a cabo, como la identificación de variables relevantes, la exploración de la relación entre la situación socioeconómica y la prolongación de los estudios, y el análisis de los factores que afectan el período académico de los estudiantes. En resumen, esta investigación busca proporcionar una visión detallada y predictiva sobre los factores que inciden en el cumplimiento del tiempo de titulación de los estudiantes de la Universidad Técnica Estatal de Quevedo, específicamente en el campo de Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación, en un período de tiempo determinado.
